Mineral deposits can sit on the paint or glass like a crust. Those may respond to a mineral remover. Once the minerals have baked into the clear coat or etched the glass, cleaning isn't enough anymore. Now we're talking about polishing or a separate glass-correction problem.
We see this a lot in our heat. Water dries fast on a hot panel, and spots that sit through days of Central Valley sun get harder to deal with.
This can get time-consuming fast
A few fresh spots are one thing. An entire vehicle covered in old etching is another. We clean the area, test it, and see what actually moves before promising a result.
If it needs paint correction, we have to work the affected panels without grinding away more clear coat than the job is worth. Sometimes the best safe result still leaves a shadow of the deeper spots.
